Is it even a wedding day without your best mate?

Updated: Mar 16, 2020

It’s your wedding day. From the first kiss there has been someone there to witness every mile stone. Every argument. Every makeup, and for some, quite unfortunately sometimes the dirty deed (wink, wink).

Of course I am talking about your best mate.

Your dog. Your faithful companion. Your councillor and your go-to loved one, the one who listens to all your cr*p and still loves you more than anything.

I get it your wedding day without 'Kenny' is like Nutella without a spoon...It’s just wrong.

Here are Werner Vineyards, we love #dogs and we love that you want yours to be apart of the day, so we welcome well behaved pets here to #celebrate with you. There are a few things to consider however, to ensure the day goes smoothly for everyone.

It’s important to consider your #pets personality; think about the role your pet will play before you get too excited about having them there. Not every #dog is comfortable out of their own confines.

Think about:

  1. Is your pet comfortable around lots of different people and lots of noise?

  2. Does your dog bark when excited or jump on everyone (including a white, and probably very expensive dress)

  3. Does your dog listen and respond to commands?

  4. If you decide to have your beloved best mate to share the moment with you, it’s worth considering a pet sitter. Even if that is a friend or relative to watch and control your pet. You can’t always guarantee how they will respond. And as much as we all love them to pieces, it’s also a very important day for you as a couple, so keep that in mind.

Here is one fabulous pet wedding service (Adelaide and Melbourne) that I have heard so many positive things about, https://www.idopaws.com/ it's worth getting in contact with them to find out more.

Remember that as much as your pet is there to be apart of your day, dressing them in outfits and making a big thing of them on your day could cause your pet to react unlike usual and put them in a position where they are uncomfortable.

At the end of the day, it’s your decision but have a plan for where they will go after, who will look after them and if it the best place for them to be. Not is it just what you want.

But most of all know that Kenny, is going to be so pumped to know his owners got it done and are married, just don't tell him you'll see him in a month after the honey moon!
